hair immaculately colored and shaped
dragging their kids by the arm along the dirt streets
behind the Soviet apartment buildings
Young Armenians with rosy cheeks
Children squatting in the lot, picking up stones
or kicking the football through empty goal posts
Tatiks with multicolor bandanas and purple sweaters
faces lined and grooved with sun and time
warding off the early fall
